One of the Most Inspiring Books I've Read: Mastery by George Leonard

Contributed by Melissa Kojima

An illustration teacher of mine recently recommended that I read the book, "Mastery" by George Leonard. It talks about what mastery is: a lifelong journey rather than a destination and the pitfalls that keep us from mastery. It applies to everything in our lives from relationships to driving a car. And of course, it applies to artists and illustrators.

The wisdom in this little book could change your life and help you become the best artist you can be. It will also help you realize it's the journey NOT the goal that is the point. I know that I found it profoundly inspiring. Maybe, you will too.

Below is 10 minute discussion about the book and some of the philosophies in it. Check it out.
