Silver Clio Award for Rod Hunt's illustrated AIDES HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaign

Rod Hunt illustrated HIV/AIDS awareness campaign

The Rod Hunt illustrated HIV/AIDS awareness campaign for AIDES has won a Silver at the 2011 Clio advertising awards.

The campaign "Welcome to the World of Sex"  for AIDES, the first French HIV/AIDS prevention non-profit organization, won Silver in the Public Service - Print category at the 2011 Clio awards.

The illustration depicts a sex theme park with the tagline “The safer you play, the longer you stay.” The illustration replicated the look and style of a real theme park. AIDES wanted the campaign to have a fun, positive message instead of one full of fear. Kelly Grubb of San Francisco advertising agency Goodby, Silverstein & Partners says they wanted, “something fresh and interesting that hasn’t been done before” and that the campaign “ embraces the positive aspects of sex with a condom.”

The map was handed out at the Museum of Sex in New York City and appeared in city newspapers. An iPad game is forthcoming as well.
